Dr Jodie has been a dentist in Brisbane private dental practices for almost ten years. During this time she has had the pleasure of helping many people to smile with pride and confidence.

Dr Jodie strives to provide patients with thorough and quality dental care in a calm and caring environment. She is passionate about all aspects of General dentistry and has a special interest in restorative dentistry, crown and bridge work and the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease.

Before studying dentistry, Dr Jodie was a Speech Pathologist and this is reflected in her ability to communicate and explain treatment options and procedures with patients so that they have a better understanding of their oral health and required dental treatment.

Dr Robert Lin grew up in Brisbane and attended Brisbane State High where he was a school prefect. He then attended the University of Queensland and obtained a Bachelor of Dental Science degree in 2009. After graduating, Robert spent some time working for Queensland Health in 2010 to further hone his skills in oral surgery and emergency dental treatment. Since then he has worked in private practices in Townsville, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney.

Robert likes to make appointments light hearted and comfortable for the patient. He takes pride in ensuring that his patients feel at ease and enjoys using his continuously growing knowledge to answer any questions they may have. Dr Lin has a holistic approach to dentistry which includes examining the patient’s breathing, sleep, TMJ, head and neck as he understands that being a dentist is more than just treating the teeth but examining the overall health of the patient. Robert is focused on making his patients healthy because he suffered from multiple health and dental issues which were directly related and can be diagnosed and treated successfully.

Dr Lin is highly committed to his continuing professional development hence travels consistently both interstate and internationally to attend dental conferences in addition to reading many books and journals. He is skilled in all areas of general dentistry but his passion is in orthodontics and creating healthy patients with beautiful faces and smiles, not just straight teeth! Robert has undertaken numerous years of part-time post-graduate study in orthodontics and is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, International Association for Orthodontics (IAO) and faculty member of the International Academy of Advanced Dentistry (IAADent). In 2018, the quality of Dr Lin’s orthodontic treatment was recognised at an international level in Hawaii where he received a fellowship award from the IAO. Robert also travels interstate to teach orthodontics to dentists on a monthly basis in addition to running an orthodontics study club here in Brisbane.

Outside of work Robert loves to exercise and enjoys watching sports. He also plays in a weekly basketball competition in Brisbane. Besides sports he also likes to travel and is known to be quite a foodie.

What does accreditation mean to you as a patient?

Accreditation is essentially the refinement of our protocols to ensure your privacy and well being is at the forefront of our values.
We have strict protocols on document keeping, sterilisation and treatment processes. You can rest assured with the confidentiality of patient files and that all equipment follows infection control guidelines.

Our lab technician has worked alongside us for over 20 years and has always delivered quality work, made locally in Brisbane. You are guaranteed to have a TGA approved, Australian made crown. We never send our work overseas, as it does not come with any certification on the elements it is made with or the sterilisation procedures.

Are you anxious about your visit?

Don’t worry, you are not alone. Yeronga Park Dental is passionate about providing gentle, caring dentistry in a relaxed environment. Rest assured, the team at Yeronga Park Dental are experienced in treating anxious patients!

We recognise that dental anxiety can make it difficult to relax during your visit, and may be viewed as quite a stressful experience. Before commencing your appointment, our compassionate dentists will discuss any concerns and assist you with ease during your visits.

Yeronga Park Dental endeavours to make your visit as comforting as possible and is proud to offer many relaxation solutions including:

  • Relaxing music
  • Headphones
  • Happy gas (light sedation)

You can feel safe knowing that you are getting the best of what dentistry has to offer. We never compromise the time spend on each patient. We offer free onsite parking and are happy to offer a complementary service for pickup and drop off within a 10 minute distance upon request

During your consultation, you can expect a comprehensive review as our focus is on you. With our wealth of knowledge, we will provide you with a range of treatment options before you make an informed decision. You will receive a personalised treatment plan, including pricing, so that you are aware and actively involved in your health plan.

Will my health insurance cover the treatment?
Private health insurance will pay a percentage towards your dental treatment. We can claim directly to the health fund through our HICAPS terminal, so you only have to cover the gap. Every treatment and claim is different and the gap amount will depend on the policy you have with your fund.

I haven’t seen a dentist in years, can you help?
You are not alone. Many people avoid the dentist because they are embarrassed about the condition of their teeth. We are here to address these concerns and with our experience, we have seen everything. We will listen to your concerns, make sure you’re completely comfortable, and treat you with compassion and respect.

Can I get this done overseas for a lower cost?
With the introduction of ‘Medical Holidays,’ many people are contemplating the advantages & disadvantages of medical treatment overseas. The lower cost of living, different regulations and lower mandated standards mean that dentistry can be cheaper in some countries.
However, if you are considering travelling overseas for dental treatment, be mindful that there are some things to keep in mind while you decide:

  • Professional certification
  • Experience
  • Access to resources
  • Health regulations and standards
  • Sterilisation protocols

Built & Established in 1949 as a weekend dental practice and home for Dr Len Soden, Yeronga Park Dental changed hands only twice before Dr Christine Furness purchased in 1992.

Dr Furness sadly medically retired in 2012, completing her near 35 year long career in dentistry and having nurtured the practice for 20 years.

Following Dr Furness’ retirement, Yeronga Park Dental was fortunate enough to be placed in the hands of Dr Nicole Yuen, who continues to uphold the family values that Dr Furness introduced to the practice many years ago.
In July 2016, Yeronga Park Dental completed a transformation, introducing a new dental room and updated facilities. We were also very proud to introduce a new practitioners to our family, Dr Jenny Cunningham.

Yeronga Park Dental is very excited to continue to grow our practice with our wonderful patients.

We would love to hear from you.
